Book Review: Graveminder by Melissa Marr

Read from November 27 to December 08, 2012

"Rebekkah Barrow never forgot the tender attention her grandmother, Maylene, bestowed upon the dead of Claysville. While growing up, Rebekkah watched as Maylene performed the same unusual ritual at every funeral: three sips from a small silver flask followed by the words, ""Sleep well, and stay where I put you.""

Now Maylene is gone and Bek must return to the hometown--and the man--she abandoned a decade ago, only to discover that Maylene's death was not natural . . . and there was good reason for her odd traditions. In Claysville, the worlds of the living and the dead are dangerously connected--and beneath the town lies a shadowy, lawless land ruled by the enigmatic Charles, aka Mr. D. From this dark place the deceased will return if their graves are not properly minded. And only the Graveminder, a Barrow woman, and the current Undertaker, Byron, can set things to right once the dead begin to walk..."

This novel was truly a spellbinder! I love Marr's new world and I love each and every concept here! The idea is exceptionally original and it's hard to connect Graveminder and Wicked Lovely to this one author!

I wasn't expecting something as good as this, truth be told. I've never liked Marr's Wicked Lovely series 'cause I believed it lacked proper foundation, but this novel has no connection whatsoever to Wicked Lovely.

I love the Undertaker-Graveminder principle here. I felt so sorry for Maylene and William from the very beginning. Rebekah and Byron are a whole different story though. In my opinion, Byron is too clingy but maybe the author was trying to show the effect of the whole Undertaker-Graveminder principle here? I don't now, but the romance between Rebekah and Byron was absolutely weak.

And that ending twist was absolutely unexpected! You have got to read this book, guys!

Book Review: Angel (Maximum Ride, #7) by James Patterson

Angel (Maximum Ride, #7) by James Patterson

Read from September 01 to 02, 2012

"HOW DO YOU SAVE EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE YOU LOVE...
Max Ride and her best friends have always had one another's backs. No matter what. Living on the edge as fugitives, they never had a choice. But now they're up against a mysterious and deadly force that's racing across the globe - and just when they need one another the most, Fang is gone. He's creating his own gang that will replace everyone - including Max.
WHEN YOU CAN'T BE TOGETHER...
Max is heartbroken over losing Fang, her soulmate, her closest friend. But with Dylan ready and willing to fight by her side, she can no longer deny that his incredible intensity draws her in.
BUT YOU CAN'T STAY APART?
I loved this! I haven't read Maximum Ride books in a long time and this just jump-started my love for this series! It was perfect! I don't care what others say about this book; it was perfect for me!

I love how complicated the Fang-Max relationship is fight now! And that ending! It was how Maximum Ride almost always ends: with a bang!

Now I just can't wait for Nevermore!

Fan Fiction Recommendation: Sasuke Gaiden by SkyeandMax

Title: Sasuke Gaiden
Author: SkyeandMax

Characters: Sasuke U. & Sakura H.
Summary: What if Fugaku died a hero during the Kyuubi attack? What if the Uchiha clan wasn't blamed for the attack? How would that change Sasuke and Konoha?

I love this non-massacre take on this plot line! The author captures the reader's attention from the moment the story starts and who can resist Sasuke, Itachi and Shisui in almost every chapter?

Naruto 599: Obito Uchiha [SPOILERS!]

First of all, do not read on if you do not wanna read spoilers! I've already warned you, so it's not my fault if you read on!

Oh, my gosh!!! How is this even possible???

Personally, I liked how the chapter introduced us to who Obito was when he was a kid. He seemed a lot like Naruto, to me. Crush on the female teammate, capable of greatness, complete goofball... oh, and the self-imposed rivalry between himself and the cool guy of the team!

Naruto 599 pg 2

I was totally sympathising with Obito till Kishimoto dropped the bomb. After that, I was only capable of incoherent speech!
This sort of gives me the idea that Tobi's boyish nature was actually Obito's childhood personality. It must have come easily to him!

Also, 'Tobi' isn't that far from 'Obito'...

Seeing how influential his teammates have been to him makes me realize that they aren't that different from Team Kakashi. No wonder Kakashi got Naruto, Sasuke & Sakura!

We didn't see much of Rin but I admit she was a bit like Sakura. Rin did have a crush on Kakashi, just like Sakura had on Sasuke.

I have no idea how the next chapter is gonna proceed because this chapter left me totally blacked out! I'm sure many are gonna agree!

Naruto 599 pg 14

I have absolutely no idea how Kakashi is gonna react to this! He looks pretty shocked right now. The guy has been visiting Obito's grave for more than 10 years, for God's sake!

Oh, and the deformed side of Obito's face seems to be from the boulders crushing him, right?

Naruto 599 pg 16

So, who else is excited about this epic chapter???

Book Review: Nightfall (Vampire Diaries: The Return #1) by L.J.Smith

Nightfall (Vampire Diaries: The Return #1) by L.J. Smith
Read from August 07 to 11, 2012
"Elena Gilbert is alive—again.
When Elena sacrificed herself to save the two vampire brothers who love her—the handsome, brooding Stefan and the sleek and dangerous Damon—she was consigned to a fate beyond death. Until a powerful supernatural force pulled her back.
Now Elena is not just human. She has powers and gifts that were bestowed on her in the afterlife. What’s more, her blood pulses with an overwhelming and unique force that makes her irresistible to any vampire.
Stefan wants to find a way to keep Elena safe so that they can make a life together. Damon, however, is driven by an insatiable desire for power, and wants Elena to rule as his princess. When Stefan is lured away from Fell’s Church, Damon seizes his chance to convince her that he is the brother she is meant to be with…
But a darkness is infiltrating the town, and Damon, always the hunter, is now the hunted; he becomes the prey of a malevolent creature that can possess him at will, and who desires not just Elena’s blood but her death."

Well, this book was okay. There were some really good parts in this book, but at the same time, there were confusing parts that didn't make sense at all. It's almost like Smith just rushed through writing this book!

I really like the relationship that Smith was building up between Damon and Bonnie. And, yeah, there is good chemistry between the two.

The horror in this book was... well, that was actually very good! There were some really good scare factors in this book, some that even had me looking about the room every once in a while!

Overall, I was very disappointed in this book.

Fan Fiction Recommendation: Ghostly Love by firooz

Title: Ghostly Love
Author: firooz
Rating: T
Genre: Romance/Supernatural
Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Gaara
Summary: Yurei Nakamura was always special. And not special as in unique like all the other people with different Kekkai Genkai, but actually special. She can see and talk to ghost. Sounds odd and hard to believe, but it's true! Of coarse, no one believed her. So when Yurei and her family come to the Sand Village intending for a fresh start, of coarse she kept it a secret! But, when she's put on the team with Gaara and the Suna siblings, how does she cope with all the ghosts surrounding Gaara? What does she tell him when she finds out his mother's ghost was still with him? And can love overpower her fear for the red-head? Would he even let her in?

This one of the only 2 GaaraxOC fanfics that I read. This fic is pretty special to me 'cause I edit it, but this fic is really something.

Fan Fiction Recommendation: Chase by HasiVA

Title: Chase
Author: HasiVA
Rating: K+
Genre: Supernatural/Adventure

Fan Fiction Recommendation: Ever After by ohwhatsherface

Title: Ever After
Author: ohwhatsherface
Rating: T
Genre: Family/Humour
Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Sasuke U. & Sakura H.
Summary: SasuSaku Prompts Kissing Booth Challenge! Sasuke and Sakura enjoy the married life. And kissing. Especially the kissing.

A very sweet SasuSaku family fic! I loved every part of it! Even though the plot is pretty basic, I love how the author has addressed the prompts!

Fan Fiction Recommendation: Reliance by mybabu

Title: Reliance
Author: mybabu
Rating: T
Genre: Romance/Drama
Fandom: Naruto
Characters: Sasuke U. & Sakura H.
Summary: And so that was how it had been. He wouldn’t always come into her office to stare out her window. Some days, even weeks would pass before she saw him again, but true to his routine, he would soon be sitting in her office once more. SasuSaku.

This fic has no big good vs. evil plot, but is merely concentrated on Sasuke settling into Konoha and how SasuSaku develops. Nevertheless, the SasuSaku in this is so awesome! A must-read for all SasuSaku shippers!

Book Review: Night World Volume 3 (Night World #7-9) by L.J. Smith

Read from August 04 to 07, 2012

"The Night World is a secret society of vampires, werewolves, witches and creatures of darkness - a place too dangerous to fall in love.

In Huntress, Jez Redfern is leader of the Night World vampires, but had an instinct to protect innocent mortals from her former friends ... Can She resist her desire for blood?

In Witchlight, Keller is a shapeshifter. She is searching for a new Wild Power and battling her attraction to the dashing Galen. But it seems he can never be her soulmate..."

HUNTRESS: This was amazing! I loved the chemistry between Jez and Morgead! I love the new elements coming into play, too. When Rashel & Quinn were mentioned, I almost died! XD

BLACK DAWN: Again, amazing! Delos is such a badass prince and I love Wendy! I love Aradia, too! Hard not to!

WITCHLIGHT: Now this, was EPIC! It was all heart-pounding action from the beginning till the end! And the 'calm' love between Keller & Galen was amazing! I love Keller's character; she is strong and vulnerable at the same time.

Book Review: The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Read from July 24 to August 04, 2012
"Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed.
When Melanie, one of the few remaining "wild" humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Wanderer probes Melanie's thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer's mind with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love."

One word: WOW! This book totally blew me! I loved it word to word. There was beautiful character development and I love how Meyer built up the relationships between the characters.

Meyer never made the reader choose sides in this novel. There was balanced black and white  for both sides. In a way, she presented the reader with the same problems that Wanderer had to face.

In my opinion, the most amazing relationship was between Wanderer and Melanie. There's a significant development in their relationship  as the story goes on and they sorta embody a unity of the two species. I was very unhappy about Wanda leaving Melanie's body, but there was no other way, was there?

This book was overall a beautiful masterpiece!

I just hope Meyer continues this epic story, 'cause it's just too good to end!

Amanda Hocking's Watersong - Interesting?

Remember Amanda Hocking? Well, her Watersong series seems pretty interesting. I wasn't actually interested until I bumped into the series' Wake's book trailer.

Interesting, no? It's the first time that a book trailer has interested me in the book, but then again, this is a great trailer!

Always Listen To Opinion

Well, I've been reading The Host and I'm LOVING IT!!! Also, it taught me a lesson.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

I read about how awesome this book while going through Meyer's stuff online and - I have no idea why - I wasn't that eager to read this book. My unhappiness with the The Twilight Saga movies influenced my opinion on the book series - which I had read - and this, in turn, dampened my eagerness to read The Host, which was a big mistake!

The Host is a very well-written book with a unique plot-line. I love the character development and the bonds that steadily form between the humans and Wanderer. I like how it's going slow with bumps and twists in the road from time to time. I'm still reading it though, so I have no idea how I'm gonna like the ending!

What excited me more was that it's coming out as a movie in 2013!

The Host movie poster

Surprisingly, the cast isn't so bad either. Saoirse Ronan as Melanie/Wanda, Diane Kruger as The Seeker, Jake Abel as Ian O'Shea, and Max Irons as Jared Howe! Yes, Abel looks like he'll make an alright Ian, regardless of what others seem to think. Max Irons is not how I imagined Jared but I guess there's a little bit of Jared in him. Saoirse seems like the perfect Melanie/Wanda though, even Meyer agrees!

I'm so excited for 29th March 2013!!! 9 days after my birthday, too.

Total Recall (2012)

Yes, people. Another movie I'm obsessing over! Nevertheless, the unlucky movie is... Total Recall!!!

This movie looks very promising! I love the cast too; Kate Beckinsale, Colin Farrell, and Jessica Biel.

I love the action, the mystery, the drama, the tech, the modernity, blah, blah, blah!!! Bottom line is I love this movie! I love Beckinsale's slide!!! It looks epic!!!

Alex Cross Trailer Music

I am so obsessed with this trailer music!!! It's absolute epicness!!!

A Passage To India - Never-ending?

Yes, I am still reading A Passage To India. That book never seems to end! I read around five to ten pages and I still don't seem to be making any progress.

I've already Googled the book and supposedly, it's full of racism and societal standing and such stuff. Wuthering Heights is much better than this! There was romance, revenge, and all that stuff.

Well, I guess the more time I spend complaining, the more time I seem to be wasting...

Ever Heard of Alyssa Reid?

So I was majorly obsessed with Alone Again, which is an awesome song by this one Alyssa Reid.

I never really realized just how epic she was until I listened to The Game.

It's sorta like a continuation of Alone Again, but this has more fire in it and is just so awesome! I've had many plot bunnies concerning Tora's background, including one with an ex-boyfriend for Tora and this song expresses her feelings towards that probable ex-boyfriend! It's just so Tora. The angry and strong Tora, that is.

Unexpected Gifts, Killer Footballs, and Endless Words On Paper

Yes, the post title says it all! Anyways, my first post for July 2012!

Okay, so, unexpected gifts? Well, I got an external hard disk today! No, I never had one before! Now I can copy all my writing and such into that sleek, black piece of technology and no one has to cry if my laptop dies. Oh wait, I will most probably end up bawling my eyes out! Hehe!

And now: the killer footballs. I swear that football was trying to kill me!!! Once it hit my back - okay, so that could have been the boys' fault, but still! -, then it almost took my head off - yes, I know it went right over my head, but for a split second there I thought I was gonna die! - and then it tried to smash my face in - yes, I know it was the newbie boy who kicked the ball. Thankfully, a classmate - yes, a boy! - blocked the ball that came rocketting towards my beautiful face at the expense of breaking a bone. Okay, he didn't break a bone! He just winced! Anyways, that ball was cursed!

Finally, endless words! Yes, people, this has a lot to do with paper, and pen. It took at least 2 hours to write those 8 pages! What I'm trying to say is that Chapter 13 of Dragon's Blood has been written down - written, mind you, not typed - and all it has to go through is an editing process. So, good news for DB fans!

Oh, and that latest chapter of Quietus was so awesome!!! Lol!

Also, that football was cursed!

Naruto 591: Risk

Well, Naruto 591 was pretty... oh, forget it!

First of all, why did Itachi have to die??? AGAIN??? That look on Sasuke's face was pretty sad! Aw! Someone hug him already! Now, all we SasuSaku fans have to hope for is that he realizes that he'd always loved  a certain pink-haired teammate and is willing to have Uchiha brats - I meant 'babies - with her! Lol!

I would have loved a little more action between Dan and Tsunade. But that kiss-on-the-forehead was pretty sweet too.

That chapter just left me wanting MORE!!!

Book Review: The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
 Read from June 18 to 24, 2012
"Seventeen year-old Veronica “Ronnie” Miller’s life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father… until her mother decides it would be in everyone’s best interest if she spent the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie’s father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that will become the centerpiece of a local church.
The tale that unfolds is an unforgettable story about love in its myriad forms – first love, the love between parents and children – that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can, the many ways that deeply felt relationships can break our hearts… and heal them."
This novel was outright beautiful! Not awesome, not epic. Just beautiful.

What I found the most interesting was the relationship between Ronnie and Will. It was so simple. A good change after all those start-crossed romances. It was pure simplicity, pure realism, and pure sweetness.

I would simply recommend this to all those YA readers. Reading a simple love story after all those YA novels can be very good to you!

Book Review: Switched (Trylle Trilogy #1) by Amanda Hocking

Switched (Trylle Trilogy #1) by Amanda Hocking
Read from June 14 to 15, 2012

"What if your entire world was built on a lie?
Wendy Everly knew she was different the day her mother tried to kill her and accused her of having been switched at birth. Although certain she’s not the monster her mother claims she is – she does feel that she doesn't quite fit in...
She’s bored and frustrated by her small town life – and then there’s the secret that she can’t tell anyone. Her mysterious ability – she can influence people’s decisions, without knowing how, or why...
When the intense and darkly handsome newcomer Finn suddenly turns up at her bedroom window one night – her world is turned upside down. He holds the key to her past, the answers to her strange powers and is the doorway to a place she never imagined could exist. Förening, the home of the Trylle.
Finally everything makes sense. Among the Trylle, Wendy is not just different, but special. But what marks her out as chosen for greatness in this world also places her in grave danger. With everything around her changing, Finn is the only person she can trust. But dark forces are conspiring – not only to separate them, but to see the downfall everything that Wendy cares about.
The fate of Förening rests in Wendy’s hands, and the decisions she and Finn make could change all their lives forever..."

All I can say is 'Oh, my God!' This book was amazing! Right now, it's one of my favourites!

At first, I wasn't that into it but then it started getting epic as the plot thickened. I love Finn! He's the perfect guy for Wendy! I love his relationship with Wendy. Also, Wendy's stubbornness makes me like her even more! I feel sorry for her though; what with Elora and ruling Trylle stuff. Another winning character is Tove. I had no interest in him until he confronted Wendy about her powers and the fact that Finn trusts him is an added bonus! So my favourite 3 characters: Wendy, Finn, and Tove!

What you really need to know is that if you haven't read Switched already, you are no better than a caveman. Weird stuff I say, huh? Lol!

Fan Fiction Recommendation: Quietus by AngeLhearteD

Title: Quietus
Author: AngeLhearteD
Rating: M
Genre: Supernatural/Romance
Fandom: Naruto

Book Review: Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick
Read from June 03 to 04, 2012
"For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She’s never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora’s not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can’t decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen—and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life."

This book was totally spellbinding! I loved the characters, the plot, the dialogue, everything! By far, my favorite character is Patch - obviously! I love the action in this too. It's heart-pounding and makes me wanna start running too. What shook me most was nightmarish guys in ski masks! That frightened me all the way.

And I have no idea why people criticize this series! It's absolutely enthralling and makes me wanna read more! Personally, I'm glad there's a fourth book!

Just so you know, this a must-read for all YA fans!

Don't Judge A Book By Its Simplicity

I was recently interested in Seasons of the Heart by Cynthia Freeman. When I started it, I actually felt it was rather materialistic and simple. Infatuated girl marries her lover and they live happily ever after.

Seasons of the Heart by Cynthia Freeman

But then the war started to intervene and I was reading 10 chapters a day! I came to the conclusion that Freeman wanted to feel Ann Coulter's naivity in the beginning and, as the story progressed, feel her improvement in ourselves. Pretty awesome technique, I would say.

It's amazing how a story with a simple plot can reveal depth at the same time. I love the way Ann develops from the naive girl to a successful business woman and I haven't even finished reading the novel!

I love the portrayal of marriage in the story the most. This is a must-read for people under the belief that marriage is perfection. I love Freeman's thematic expression of the walls between Ann and Phillip. Add their daughter, Evie, into the midst and you've got a full-scale family drama.

As a side-not, this is no review of this novel, but a simple expression of my surprise at the depth in such a simple story-line.

Titanium - Sia & David Guetta

Another epic song! One of the best I've heard. I can't believe this is the same Sia we save in The Voice. Awesome!!

Also Cheyenne's cover of this song is even more amazing! Her voice is unbelievable!

I'm seeing stars right now! XD

Without You - Rachel Berry (Glee)

Oh my god! I am obsessed with this song! Rachel Berry sings it much better than Usher.

I can't help linking this song with Tora! It sorta explains how she feels once Itachi leaves her. What do you think?

Book Review: Hex Hall (Hex Hall #1) by Rachel Hawkins

Read from February 21 to 24, 2012

I just read Rachel Hawkins's debut novel, "Hex Hall", and loved it! It is one of the best books I've ever read! The book was, like, super-glued to my hands! And the best parts are Sophie and Archer. Sophie's funny and sarcastic character was just so fun to read about. The Hex Hall heartthrob, Archer, is the kind of male character that makes you wanna jump into the novel for. What surprised me the most is that Archer is part of L'Occhio di Dio. That was an epic plot-twister. Oh, and also the part that Sophie is 'quarter-demon'. I can't wait to read the sequel, "Demonglass".

Here's the summary of "Hex Hall":

" Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father--an elusive European warlock--only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.
By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.
As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her."
Make sure this is one of those books stacked up in the Favourites corner of your library!

Book Review: Abandon (Abandon Trilogy #1) by Meg Cabot

Abandon (Abandon Trilogy #1) by Meg Cabot
"After the accident, 17 year old Pierce tries to start over. But even after moving to a new town and starting a new school, he still keeps showing up — always when she least expects him, but exactly when she needs him most.
One thing she knows for certain: John Hayden may be irresistible, but he’s no angel.
But if Pierce lets herself fall any further, she may just find herself spending all of eternity in the one place to which she swore she’d never return . . . .
. . . his world: The Underworld."
Abandon book jacket

This book was totally wow! This book reintroduced me to the sensation of reading an epic novel that is totally unputdownable! 'Abandon' is a huge difference from Meg Cabot's comfort zone, but when I read this, I was like "Meg, what were you thinking? Writing all those teen fiction novels when you can write epic supernatural books like this?" So, just so you guys know, make sure you have this book in your library!

Hachiko: A Dog's Story

I finally had the guts to watch the whole movie and it was amazing! The most beautiful movie ever!

What makes it even sadder is that it's a true story. I actually cried watching this, especially when Hachiko was dying. That was so sad! That last part where Hachi dreams of Parker coming back was so heartbreaking!

What intensified the effect was the marvellous music. It was so emotional and tragic; best music ever! Seriously though, the guy who did it is a genius! Here's it:

If you haven't watched the movie yet, you should.

Hachiko is the most loyal dog ever!

Book Review: Wintercraft (Wintercraft #1) by Jenna Burtenshaw

Wintercraft (Wintercraft #1) by Jenna Burtenshaw
Read in February, 2012

I just finished reading 'Wintercraft' by Jenna Burtenshaw and let me tell you, it was awesome! Burtenshaw's debut novel totally pulled it off with epic flair! I was absolutely spellbound by this novel and its epicness. The plot and characters were all so original and unique. Here's the summary for you to check out:
"Ten years ago Kate Winters' parents were taken by the High Council's wardens to help with the country's war effort.
Now the wardens are back...and prisoners, including Kate's uncle Artemis, are taken south on the terrifying Night Train. Kate and her friend Edgar are hunted by a far more dangerous enemy. Silas Dane – the High Council's most feared man – recognises Kate as one of the Skilled; a rare group of people able to see through the veil between the living and the dead. His spirit was damaged by the High Council's experiments into the veil, and he's convinced that Kate can undo the damage and allow him to find peace.
The knowledge Kate needs lies within Wintercraft – a book thought to be hidden deep beneath the graveyard city of Fume. But the Night of Souls, when the veil between life and death is at its thinnest, is just days away and the High Council have their own sinister plans for Kate and Wintercraft..."

Here's the book trailer:

The trailer isn't much and personally, I don't like it much, but the book's epic! So make sure you buy this book the next time you go to a bookstore!

Have you read Neil Gaiman's 'Stardust' or even watched the movie? No? Well, you should. Here's the blurb if you are interested:

For the prize of Victoria's hand, Tristan vows to retrieve the star for his beloved. It is an oath that sends the lovelorn swain over the town's ancient wall and into a world that is dangerous and strange beyond imagining... "
